Adrian Henri

You keep our love hidden
like the nightdress you keep under your pillow
and never wear when I’m there

But
one sunfilled day
you took me to your magic room
at the end of the yellow corridor
and showed me enchanted stilllifes
Nivea tins Bodymist sprays cold cream jars
glowing like jewels
your body singing pink in the sunlight . . .
